How Healthy Can You Get? youth video winners announced

City of Toronto Media Relations has issued the following:

Three winners of the How Healthy Can You Get? youth video contest have been announced: Mahmoud Keita, Raquel Landau and Shurley Sun. These entrants responded to a challenge by Toronto Public Health (TPH) to produce a 60-second video showing how many healthy activities could be communicated in one minute.

A total of 28 videos were received and judged by a panel of youth participating in TPH programs. The winners were announced by the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David McKeown, and their videos are on the TPH website at http://www.toronto.ca/beyourbestself/contest.htm.

"We are delighted at the excellent quality of the videos submitted by young people from all across the city," said Marg Metzger, Manager, Healthy Living, which includes youth programming. "The three winners brought forward very strong ideas combined with outstanding creativity and energy in expressing health messages in just 60 seconds."

The How Healthy Can You Get? video contest is one part of  the Be Your Best Self health promotion campaign for youth. This project aims to help youth take care of themselves and to connect young people from across Toronto in a network focusing on health issues.

Youth can get involved and get more information at http://www.toronto.ca/beyourbestself/index.htm.
